About RecombiMAb anti-mouse NKG2AB6 (LALA-PG)

16A11-CP075 monoclonal antibody is a recombinant, chimeric version of the original 16A11 antibody. The variable domain sequences are identical, but the constant region has been switched from mouse IgG2b to mouse IgG2a. 16A11-CP075 also contains the Fc silencing mutation LALA-PG rendering it unable to bind to endogenous Fcγ receptors thus preventing effector functions such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). The highly controlled sequence and lack of genetic drift in recombinant antibodies provide more reliable and reproducible results over hybridoma derived antibodies. The 16A11 antibody reacts with NKG2A from C57BL/6 mice and does not react with BALB/c or 129 mouse strains. NKG2A, also known as CD159a is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein which belongs to the killer cell lectin-like receptor (KLR) family. NKG2A is expressed on NK cells, NKT cells, and activated CD8 T cells. NKG2A forms a disulfide-bonded heterodimer with CD94 that can bind to non-classical MHC class I antigen Qa-1 on target cells and inhibit NK cell activation.
